Meet Gina

MENOPAUSE has been a challenging and enriching experience for me. As I have been moving with the ebb and flow of this rite of passage, I have relied on the fluidity of the water element. This powerful element has been my ally as I stay committed to nurturing the empowerment I find within my feminine being.

Conscious dance has been my go to medicine for tapping into this feminine energy, processing emotions and honoring the full expression of my body. It feels extremely freeing and empowering moving my body impulsively while not caring what it looks like. This has been one of my top “go to” practices over the past 4 years. So much so, I did a 9-month deep dive exploratory training into self to become a facilitator of the practice of conscious dance.

Dance is a direct connection to my spiritual being. It aligns me with who I am from the inside out. I find myself returning to the rhythms that guide me in life over and over again. Dance is a deep meditation when I can drop out of my head and into my body (soul). The freedom I feel is transformative! It’s a new way of being.

Letting go of societal expectations and judgments is challenging in the aging process. As I move deeper into being invisible, in this world of youth, I choose to celebrate the metamorphosis menopause brings with it. I have officially earned the title “Crone”. What I know to be true is, I have lost my youthful appearance I was so attached to and it’s not the end. The polarity, I have gained deep wisdom, self-trust, confidence and resilience in who I am and I would not trade that for the world. It is a new beginning I am celebrating!

I have come face to face with this metamorphosis. It has been my opportunity to reinvent myself. To focus on what I have to offer this world– my gifts, my joys, the beauty in life. It takes grit, a whole lot of grace, and a village to navigate unfamiliar terrain, and I am part of that village.

Gina Crane, creator of Dancing Through Menopause, channels her nurturing, compassionate, outside-the-box, and quirky energy to empower women throughout all stages of menopause—from peri to post.

Her most significant achievement lies in nurturing her family during her long-time career as a stay-at-home mother. This role provided her with a platform to explore lifestyle practices and fully commit to her own health. As she continued to discover, she recognized the ripple effect on those around her.

Throughout the years, Gina remained committed to educating herself. She has participated in numerous trainings, certifications, retreats, workshops, therapeutics and extensive reading. The most powerful education has been experiential opportunities, offering an embodied and applicable approach to rising up to the challenges that life presents.

Gina's ongoing evolution influences how she shows up for herself; she chooses to integrate nourishing practices to support her sacred being in mind, body and soul. This overarching theme inspired her to mentor women seeking insight on how to be more attuned to their day-to-day lives as they navigate the unknown terrain of menopause. 

Her holistic approach empowers women to discover their own inner rhythm, informing the choices and practices to best support their ever-evolving bodies and lives. Gina believes autonomy is crucial for women in advocating their own menopausal exploration. She likes to say “Know Thyself Well” and considers it the best medicine, no matter what stage of life. It’s never too early or too late to begin. It just is.

As a creative, nurturing, energetic, and free spirit, Gina possesses a visionary outlook, easily translating lifestyle changes into manageable steps, fostering a seamless transition from mere sustaining to dancing with life.

Nourish the Mind

Food informs my entire organ system on how it will perform, fight for me, provide energy, and influence my emotions. The gut-brain axis is crucial for neurotransmitter production, a strong immune system, and communication between beneficial bacteria in the gut and the brain. The quality of this bi-directional communication, traveling at lightning speed, is highly dependent on what I consume. This knowledge influences my approach to nourishing my body with a “food as medicine” mindset, using nutrient-rich foods to feed both my belly and my mind without sacrificing deliciousness. When my microbiome flourishes, my mind is nourished, creating a harmonious relationship in the well-being of my emotional, physical and spiritual body.

FOOD AS MEDICINE

Move the Body

Movement is an integral part of my life. Life is movement—movement is medicine. Incorporating movement every day has been my elixir for my emotional health, my physical body moving fluidly, and connecting with my spiritual being. I use movement to stay strong, remain aware of how I am showing up in my life, and socially connect with others. By prioritizing daily movement, it serves as my meditation, keeping me grounded holistically with myself. Movement is constant change, it cultivates vitality, resilience, and a vibrant existence in my whole body. My activities look like active daily life, gardening, walking, riding my bike and involves sprinkles of weightbearing “exercise” promote strong bones, mobiltiy, stability and strength for longevity.

Spirituality is a map guiding me toward what my unique being is seeking— A deeper conection to understanding who I am and what that means for my everyday life. I rely on my creative spirit to explore and navigate the depths of my existence, revealing the truth of who I am. I love rituals and ceremonies that beckon me back to my authentic self, working to transcend the role I play in life. In these moments, I find solace admist the confines of societal pressures and expectations, always seeking a pathway to break free from the monotony of everyday existence. Connecting to the profound purpose of my life infuses my sacred existence with passion, creativity, beauty, and allowing for authentic expression. Through practices such as dance, breathwork, intention, self-reflection and self-prioritzation, spirituality illuminates the limitless potential available to me. It enables me to connect with something greater than myself.
